review: the haunt at hellizondo

It’s been a few years since we visited the colorful world of the Haunt at Hellizondo. This legendary maze, now located in Canoga Park, is a trip through a neon-infused Western town that is a playful world of fantasy. The ghost town, Hope’s Edge, brings to life their infamous signature style of psychedelic, blacklight color design.

The exterior of the maze is a feast of colors to behold. Neon purple lights saturate the Western shacks, transforming the decor into a trippy town. The numerous animatronic installations offer many surprises for those waiting in line. For example, an outhouse mysteriously opens to reveal a skeleton using the bathroom to the delight of everyone outside. Once inside the maze you experience more of what this otherworldly town has to offer - as you walk through the saloon and other candlelit, cobwebbed spaces you will noticed several of the skeletons lie around in a hilarious drunken state with their heads down in their liquor.

Escaping into a world of fantasy is an enjoyable and inspiring experience for people of all ages. The Haunt at Hellizondo has successfully created a beautiful ghost town frozen in time, offering frights from the bygone era of the Old West. With the entertainment that this legendary yard maze brings it is no surprise that it continues to inspire the haunt world and entertain visitors from far and wide year after year.
