review: Hauntington beach manor: midnight shadows

Last year we received a tip about the amazing Hauntington Beach Manor through a friend from the Westcoaster site. Taking place inside of the Westminster Mall, the 2021 version of this haunt took visitors through an incredibly detailed maze filled with handcrafted high-end props, sets, and lighting. The actors were all absolutely incredible and did a fantastic job with the authenticity of their roles. Therefore, when we found out that Hauntington Manor had moved to an even larger space (an empty Sears store) in the same mall - we were immediately curious to see what they would do. We are happy to report that they absolutely killed it!

Like Rotten Apple, the Hauntington Beach Manor did not reuse ANY of the rooms from their previous haunt - last year’s hospital maze. Instead, they built an entirely new and impressive experience (Midnight Shadows) that takes you through a paranormal hospital in order to visit a possessed patient. Within the hospital, you travel through numerous rooms including a life size, water filled underground sewer.

Hauntington Beach Manor is unlike any other haunt. It is completely original and filled with surprises around every corner. You will encounter animatronics, original characters, and an unbelievable build of a giant, exploding computer that is possessed. We cannot emphasize enough how impressive this haunt is.

Hauntington Beach Manor shares the empty Sears store with another great haunt: Prism. This pairing makes it a pefect location to visit for haunters who are dedicated to seeing some of the best DIY haunts in one trip. The superb quality of craft and creativity contained within this space is astounding and makes it a mandatory visit for the 2022 haunt season.
