review: TOLUCA LAKE PUMPKIN PATCH

We have been covering the haunted house of the Toluca Lake Pumpkin Festival for a long time and are happy to report that our visit this year was better than ever. This modest haunted maze is tucked in the back of an actual pumpkin patch directly off of the 134 at the corner of Riverside and Cahuenga. The space feels like a trip to a vintage Halloween era with its incredible ambience that includes hand painted signs, a petting zoo, and pumpkins everywhere you look.

The haunted maze is very unique and doesn’t depend on scare actors for action, utilizing instead a cast of hand built animatronic characters dressed up in classic Halloween costumes. Flying monkeys, wizards, werewolves, and even the Frankenstein monster haunt these dimly lit halls of blue, red, and green. The smell of hay permeates the air, enhancing the festive and carnivalesque atmosphere.

Toluca Lake Pumpkin Patch is a charming trip into a long forgotten world of roadside Halloween attractions. This place is a great visit for those haunting in the Studio City/ North Hollywood area and we encourage you to take a peak and support this really fun local business.
